ᒣhe weather in Minnesota pretty much dictates much of what goes on around here especially your wardrobe. If you love fashion and care about how you present yourself, then you have to have a solid winter wardrobe if you live in this city. And a solid winter wardrobe includes two or more winter coats and boots and sweaters. These pieces can cost a lot if you want really good quality but I have a tip for you if you want to go shopping for winter attire; try consignment or thrift shopping. This tip is not a secret to anyone anymore and definitely not a secret to any reader of this blog.
Coat Sweater Boot
This long green coat is a thrifted piece from a couple of years ago. It's color, length and details is what got my attention and also the price! I got this coat for less than 50 bucks and it was in great condition and still is. So, if you live in a very cold region like I do, explore the thrift and consignment stores in your city and check out their coat racks before you splurge on a new coat at a fashion retail store. A new coat of similar style, silhouette and quality would set you back hundreds of dollars. Shopping thrift and consignment stores is all about sustainability too and taking care of the environment. I draped the coat over a camel color sweater and blue denim and completed the look with a pair of dark brown square toe boots and brown woven strap bag; a lot of textures on the bag and coat.
And if I might add, taking care of our environment is not an optional feat; it is what is required of us as Christians. In the book of Genesis 1 verse 6, God said He gave dominion over the whole earth to man. And the word dominion denotes ownership or possession. If you own something, you'll take care of it especially if it is valuable to you. Thanks so much for stopping by here.
