How I styled my camo prints pencil Skirt

Happy Friday Friends 😁 This is a flash back look to this outfit I wore last fall and just pulled from my photo archives. I have always loved camo prints because it's so edgy and chic and for a long time, I wanted a clothing item with this print. I saw a couple of camo print pants, skirts and jackets online over the years but never made a purchase. There was always something wrong with the piece; it was either the skirts were too short or the style too juvenile and the really nice designs were too expensive like this beautiful camo print midi skirt here. So, I just settled for an accessory in this camo print pumps here and styled here and here. Then I stumbled accidentally on this camo print pencil skirt on a site that retails modest fashion called Apostolic Clothing. The skirt comes in this knee length and also in a maxi. I love the length of the skirt but the fabric is a bit stretchy and cannot really be described as modest because it clings to the curves but a big or baggy top would be appropriate depending on what event or occasion you are styling it for. Another place you can get unique designs of camo print pant or skirt is on Etsy. Another alternative is to get the camo print fabric at a fabric store and then sketch your own design and send it out to a seamstress. You might end up spending more money but you'll always get a unique piece and there is always the satisfaction that you are channeling your own creativity.

I paired the skirt with an oversized black turtleneck sweater and threw on my sunglasses for a very casual and edgy look. My suede ankle boots, an old purchase from Victorias' Secret completed the look. Just an aside, remember that Victorias' Secret  used to sell clothing, shoes and accessories years ago; through their catalogues and online? The Fashion line was shut down a couple of years ago leaving just the lingerie and sleep wear but I heard the brand might be coming back again with fashion and probably swim wear. I really loved the fashion line those days and I bought lots of knit wear and shoes from the brand. Okay, back to this outfit; this look is very appropriate for date night with the hubby or for a meet-up with girl friends. I do not get the chance to go out that much on dates with hubby these days because of our busy schedules and taking care of four kids which is okay. There is so much pleasure now in raising the kids with love and in a godly way.

"The Bible says to raise up the kids (train up a child in the way he should go) and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22 : 6

Whenever, we get the chance to go out, I like to dress up really nice and edgy and this outfit is  just the right choice if it is a casual date on a not so cold day. For a date night with the hubs, you don't need to be modest; you let all the curves out hence the not so baggy sweater 😉 To see how I styled a mixed prints look with this skirt in a previous blog post, check out this post here and thanks so much for visiting. Have a beautiful weekend.
