How to style old staples from your Closet for Fall

Hi everyone, happy Tuesday; I hope the new week is going great. Are the leaves falling off the trees yet where you live? Do you wake up to cold crisp air? Fall is here and it's time to switch up our style a notch including here on the blog. This green Target dress is an old staple from my closet; I love it because of the bold green color and with the right accessories, it can be worn all year round. For early fall, I decided to style the dress by just substituting my summer accessories with fall accessories; summer sandals were replaced with this pair of embellished floral pumps and a silk floral scarf tied to my bag completed the look. In my neck of the woods, the weather is not cold enough yet for scarfs and boots unless you are going for an early morning walk. If it was boots season, I would layer a dark colored sweater under the dress and put on some thigh or knee high boots. What are your tips for transitioning your closet into fall? My tips are below;

  • Switch out your Accessories: For this look, I wore dark color floral pumps instead of sandals and switched out my bright color summer straw bag for a darker shade. I have really come to love straw bags and I know I'm going to keep wearing them even if the trend go away.

  • Add floral or animal prints accessories to your look: Animal prints is a huge trend this fall and floral prints are just a fall staple. Styling any of these prints into our fall wardrobe completely elevates any look.
