My Christmas Gift, Goodbye to 2013 and Happy New Year!!

Yeah, this is my final thoughts for the blog for the year 2013. I had my little angel; baby boy ZION at 8:04 am Christmas morning. He came just three days shy of his due date but what perfect timing. The joy and happiness of having a baby on a special holiday as Christmas quickly replaced all the discomfort that was experienced during the process. I am so grateful and thankful to God for such a wonderful gift. Now, with two lovely sons and two lovely daughters, I feel like I am the most blessed and happiest mum in the world.

So, my family and I spent our Christmas at the hospital; my hubby and the other kids brought all the gifts from under the Christmas tree to my hospital room and we opened our gifts and had our Christmas dinner. It was the best Christmas ever and the beginning of many more to come. So, Good-bye 2013. It's been so much fun documenting this journey on the blog and sharing this experience. It's been a wonderful year and I thank everyone who stopped by to say hi and left comments, questions and good wishes. I thank you all for your concern, support and love. I do not know if I would have the time to continue blogging but hope I'll be able to drop in once in a while.

In conclusion, since this is a fashion blog; I'll say a little bit about fashion...:) I had the intention of doing a blog post titled "Unveiling" which was going to feature a make-up free face and a head without the wigs. So, I guess this is the post. I here reveal my make-up free face and my natural hair (dreads) that I have been grooming for months. With this look, I am signing off along with these special words;

Happy New Year!!!

Wishing you all the best for 2014!

A very Merry Christmas...

We have finally come to the end of the year and Christmas; my best holiday, is the icing on an already beautiful and sweetly baked cake. We are having a white Christmas in Minnesota with lots of snow on the ground and cold temperatures. I am having a quiet Christmas with my family and since hubby and I are on vacation from work, we have ample time to enjoy every moment of the season with the kids plus, some of my family members came from Missouri to visit for the holidays. I hope you all are having a wonderful time with your family too. This might be my last post for the year because my baby is due to arrive any time soon. Again, for me, this is the most wonderful time of the year and with this; I wish you a wonderful Christmas and a very prosperous new year.

Report Signature

Tee: Customink
Scarf: Target
Jacket: Thrifted
Jeans: Loft
Boots: Report Signature via Victoriassecret
Shoulder bag: Neighborhood Boutique

I had the opportunity earlier in the fall to put three of my favorite clothing items together  in an outfit; my beloved Customink tee shirt, my comfy paisley scarf from Target  and my new Report Signature flat  heeled riding boots. The weather right now is very suitable for a second spin because of the snow blanket and low temperatures. Currently, enjoying my Christmas vacation with my family and looking forward to the arrival of our little angel.

I hope you all are in the Christmas spirit and plan to spend valuable time with God, family and valuable friends this season. Christmas is a time of giving because it started with God giving his son to die for our redemption. He alone is the reason for the season. Enjoy your Christmas and New Year holidays and thanks a lot for stopping by.

Fall..Oh Fall

Plaid dress: T. J. Maxx (old)
Scarf, tights, bracelets: Target
Jacket: Fashion Bug (old)
Boots: DSW

I just know it; fall (Autumn) is my favorite time of the year.
The weather gets cold but cool enough to bear
Beautiful nice weather that is just cold enough to put on some layers and still look chic
or snuggle under the blankets with a nice cup of hot tea.

Now it's Winter and everything is just different
How I miss my beloved Fall; my favorite time of the year.
But am glad every day of the last fall was well spent
And these pictures are good evidence hence I posted them here

Last fall, I got some good exercise working in the yard
and enjoyed the sound of the rake "swissshing" the leaves
Now any exercise outside puts me continually on my  guard
And the most common sound is that of tires "shuzzzing" in the snowy streets

I thank God though that there is a season for everything
And I know one thing for certain
The seasons must all come and go
So that every living thing surely can grow

However,  I miss my fall-oh fall!

Easy does it....

Plaid Jacket: thrifted
Pants: Loft
Tee and Scarf: Target
Shoes: DSW

I wish I could take the clock back or wave a wand to take the weather back to how it looked on the day I took these pictures. It was a cool fall morning and the weather was beautiful; a little chilly but bearable. It is still officially fall on the calendar but Old Man Winter has crashed the party. We had several inches  of snow across the state the last couple of days and we are dealing with frigid and freezing temperatures right now coupled with dangerous wind chill. This is the time of the year when a lot of Minnesotans question why they actually live in this state. As for me, I admit it is indeed a difficult time of the season but it has kind of helped to slow things down a bit at this time of the year which is very much welcome in my own opinion. A lot of people are spending more time indoors with their loved ones as opposed to running around in the malls chasing that sale. Sometimes it is not all about that gift but about the love, time and attention that is bestowed on others.

As we all know, there is always much frenzy during the holiday season as most people make last minute effort to get their goals met and get ready for the new year. There is already consequences of such frenzy reported in the news as speed related crashes are being reported here and there. I pray for God to comfort the families of all those that are affected by these tragedies.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

My Verses for the Day:

Ecclesiastes 2:11

Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labor that I had labored to do: and, behold, all [was] vanity and vexation of spirit, and [there was] no profit under the sun.

Matthew 16:26

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

    Psalm 107:1
"O GIVE thanks unto the LORD, for he is good; for his mercy endureth forever." (KJV)
    1 Chronicles 29:11-13
"Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
    Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom;
    you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name." (KJV)

It's time to give God thanks for all he has done in our lives and even if you have been through more "downs" than "ups," you will find out that God has been and is still faithful in your life. All you have to do is; "COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS."

Give me Green...

Scarf & Tee: Target
Pants: Loft
Jacket: Old
Shoes: DSW
Purse: Aldo

I fell in love with the color green lately and it really just makes me feel happy. Of course green symbolizes life and growth. There was a couple of sunny days last week and the temperature was not too cold and on this particular day, I stepped out without a jacket but had my comfortable green scarf around my neck for warmth.

It's not too late to give donations to the typhoon victims in the Philippines and the hurricane victims in Washington county in Illinois and never, never too late to  offer prayers.
Thanks so much for stopping by and do have a wonderful weekend.

Not even a bottle of Water...

Jacket: Old
Black tee: Victoriassecret.com
Pants: Calvin Klein via T. J. Maxx
Purse: Aldo
Shoes: Old

I found these pictures in my folder today and I remember the day I took them; it was some time in the summer and a very hot day. For some reason, I couldn't let go of my water bottle in the first few shots and I think I actually forgot that I had it with me. I never really thought of the pictures since then and when I stumbled upon the pictures again today, I stared at the bottle of water in my hand and almost had tears in my eyes. I felt touched in my spirit knowing that somewhere, some place, some people do not even have clean fresh water to drink not to mention having a good meal to eat...

It's been a very quiet and somber week with the news of Typhoon Haiyan that hit the Philippines almost two weeks ago. The devastation and destruction was of such high magnitude that it's so difficult to grasp. The images and interviews about it have been so hard to view and comprehend and it kind of reminds me about Job's story in the bible. The book of Job in the bible tells us about a very righteous man named Job who was so rich and influential but lost everything he had in one day. Also, he was afflicted with a great chronic illness to the extent that he cursed the day he was born. His situation can be compared to that of the families in Philippines who lost everything in one day. Where do you begin to comfort people like that when you encounter them? What do you even say to console such people who have been devastated? How much can you give to them to take them back to their original state or even make them better off than they were? Can millions of dollars bring back loved ones who died in the typhoon? "Definitely not!" However, I am not saying we should not give to such people or give them counseling. I haven't given yet but I am preparing myself to give and have started researching the best organization or group to give to. For now I think the Red-Cross is one of the best organizations out there to donate to.

Now, to give a conclusion on this matter. Job in the bible was redeemed when he refused to curse God despite his devastation and actually held unto his confession of God as the almighty. At the end, God saw how faithful Job was and blessed him so much that his misfortune was totally forgotten at the end of the day. Job 42: 15-17. So, in addition to the giving and the counseling, let's take a moment to pray for the people of Philippines. Let's pray for God's grace to abound in that country so that people would be saved and feel the peace that only God can give. The kind of peace that comes with knowing that nothing in this life really matters; family, material possession, education...etc. The only thing that counts is the state of our soul. When we have God in us, our faith and confession makes us strong in the face of calamity and provides the strength to remain standing and overcome all obstacles.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and it's a pleasure to get your opinion or thoughts.

Leopard prints, fallen leaves

High-low dress: T. J. Maxx
Tee: Victoriassecret
Shoes: Target

I went to T. J. Maxx a few weeks ago to do some shopping for the kids and as usual, I slowly drifted to the women's department. I told myself I was not going to buy anything; "just taking a look." And then I spotted this cute high-low animal print dress and it was so hard to resist. I knew it was a summer piece and not meant for the cold weather but as you can see, it didn't have to stay in the closet for too long...:)

I wore it a couple of days ago to lounge in the house and when it was time to go out to a friend's get-together party later in the day, I added accessories to the simple outfit and transitioned it from summer to fall. (I have been loving the color green lately and decided to do a quick home manicure to accentuate the green accessories but ended up with chipped nails...:) Now, I know I got a good deal out of the purchase. It's better to buy clothing pieces that can be worn in several ways than to splurge on one single item that can not be put into versatile use.

Earlier in the Fall...

Dress: Venus
Shoes: Target
Bracelets: Burlington
Tights: Express

It was sometime at the beginning of Fall; around the beginning of October when I took these pictures. I am always amazed at the color and beauty displayed in nature during the Fall season and this might be the main reason why I just love Fall. Spring is my next favorite season with all that blooming of nature and chirping of birds in the trees.

On this day, the weather was a little chilly outdoors but I was lounging indoors and was not really going anywhere. I wore one of my favorite dresses to lounge in; a purple floral dress I purchased from Venus a couple of years ago. The fabric is so soft and comfy  and I love the mix-match of the patterns in the fabric.

I just wanted to sign in to say hi. Presently, the weather is very cold and we had the first major snowfall of the season a couple of days ago and there is another storm in the forecast for next week. Now, it's the time to rearrange the closet again and thinking about it is really daunting and exciting at the same time.

Thanks so much for stopping by and do have a very beautiful and great weekend.
